I don't understand your problem. You can also download OpenOffice.org by using the "old" way. Just go to http://download.openoffice.org/2.3.0/index.html click on the name of the operating system, you're using and proceed to "download" and you get OOo. I haven't seen anything, that implies, that you're have to use p2p download technologies.
