I think the reassurance that Marco Fioretti talks about is a different
matter than the fuller FAQ explanation that Stefan mentions.  Surely,
there is a way on a download page to give this reassurance and perhaps
refer to the FAQ.

That is why I think one-click first time downloads is not a good idea --
an explanatory-reassurance page should be shown before the actual
download click.
