OK - it will. I downloaded OO 2.3.1 and opened up OpenOffice.org Base This presents a Database Wizard screen where I can create a new or open an existing database. I choose to 'open existing'. Click on "open" find .mdb file and click on it. Then click 'open' in that window. OpenOffice.org Base program immediately disappears. No error indication, no warning, no nothing. No longer shows in Task manager.
