OK, that's good to know and pretty much what I surmised from older posts; thanks. It's not a deal breaker but is an annoyance, that's for sure. Fortunately I don't have such problems with my Word 2002 so I am able to break the larger chapters up into smaller pieces; the major work is done, it's just tweaking and clean-up now, but ... . I was hoping to be able to obsolete MS Word et al more cleanly.
