I don't know about you, but I would rip the thing out by it's roots within a 
couple of hours. I can spell, but my wife cannot easily. For nothing else, 
marital harmony requires that I step on this as hard as I can. Besides, how 
would she continue to know that she needs me to check her spelling if this was 
there?

Ha ha... I'd love that... for everyone else... I can only speak for myself,
but I think I know the spelling of most of the words I write, especially in
my own language, Swedish. Still I do a lot of spelling errors, but these are
in most cases just a result of things like hitting the wrong key and things
like that. It would be very frustrating to spell a word maybe ten times just
because my fingers slipped... but if the feature is possible to turn off,
why not?
