I have been an avid user and promoter of Openoffice.org for several
years now.
A couple of suggestions.
1.Openoffice Writer: *Could you allow copying and pasting of
non-printing characters in the Edit->File & Replace section? * This will
allow users to reduce extra 'hard return commands' extra spaces. The
dos based XyWrite used to allow us to use such a feature which I found
extremely useful when editing large passages. This is a feature that
appears to be missing in Openoffice.
2. Openoffice Calc: *Cutting (CTRL+X) and pasting (CTRL+V)problem*: When
I cut and paste a column in the spreadsheet, and then seek to shift the
cursor sideways using the direction keys, the cursor remains not at the
beginning of the column that is cut (CTRL+X) but at the bottom of the
column. This compels me to use the mouse or the direction keys once
again to shift the cursor to the beginning of the column. Neither 123,
nor Q-Pro had this problem (nor does Excel). If this could be modified,
it would be wonderful.
