I have the same problem. I was told to export my Outlook PST's to Outlook
Express and then to Ubuntu. I could not get the export to Outlook Express
to work. It could be that I have 4.5 Gb of email files. YMMV. Do not
know about the invitations.

As OE doesn't exist in Ubuntu, you should install Thunderbird, and import
your Outlook email from there. Then it's relatively easy to transfer your
TBird data from Windows to TBird on Ubuntu...
