Because I usually sign my messages with PGP, using the MIME method.
OE, you're MUA of choice, incorrectly renders such messages as an
attachment. I /could/ sign them using the inline method, and you'd
then have no trouble reading them. However, inline signing is
deprecated and therefore not preferred.
I've sent this message with an inline PGP sig, so you can read it.
