Yes, but this is the same behaviour as Words automatic numbering, isn't
it?

[Shift][Enter] instead of [Enter] allows you to append as much as you
like within each number paragraph. So for your example:

1. Intro[Shift][Enter]
blah blah blah[Enter]
 
2.etc[Shift][Enter]
blah blah blah[Enter]

Auto numbering works for you if you work with it.
