Thank you all for your suggestions. It would seem that I remembered
something that couldn't have been. I accept this as given. Just wishful
thinking, perhaps. I have now simply undocked the table tools and let
them float. This may in fact be what I remembered. Anyway, it provides
access to the tools without jostling the text up and down or back and forth.
I've never suggested anything to a OOo wish list, but maybe this
permanent docking function would be a good suggestion.
