There's a feature in MS Word and in most spreadsheets (inc. Calc) that lets you have two parts of one document inside a split-window. Hence you can have your column headings / lead paragraph / whatever at the top, see a big bar across the screen, and see Row 25,000 or page 23 or whatever. IMHO it's a good idea for anyone editing long documents.
