Came this utterance fomulated by Rob to my mailbox:

 Ohiyo,
How about a small open office enhanced notepad like program, to
replace the windows one by default.

There are tens, perhaps hundreds of text editors for Windows. Go to your
favourite download site and pick one that has the additional features
you want.

OpenOffice.org does have text editing capabilities, you can save any
writer document as .TXT, but that is not it's main stated purpose.

Hey,
I am aware of various editors, as i use notepad ++, i was just thinking about the convenience of including a program like this in the standard package of open office but to not necessarily be default installed by the basic package, just as an extra option. As for examples of advanced features... integration with the rest of open office's system, ie. file types and something like unsaved document recovery for things you just wanna jot into the notepad. Various syntax highlighting, CMD interface? tabs? Global hot key for something like a slide to hide txt editor for quick jots. As well as something quicker to load and light on system resources as this system im using is AES encrypted I'm sure other's will be thankful. Maybe not be as overly powerful as something like notepad++. Have some easy access core core functionality.

Thnx for such a quick response...
