Hoping to get answers about anything regarding the OOo website from
Collabnet is just as pointless as asking a camel to fly a jet. This

But we digress: even if Collabnet all of a sudden became an actual,

real difference wrt address harvesting, when gmane (or any other nntp
server) mirrors these messages?
Hello Marco, et al.

I believe email addresses displayed 'in the clear' or obfuscated, by gmane at least, is a setting that can be changed and requires only that someone contact the archive manager.

At least that is how I remember it. (I helped set up gmane archiving for another project about a year ago)

I'll go to the site and re-read the documentation and pass back what I find.

Best wishes,

Drew
