Ah... understand now. I see that you've added to
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/319462
You might want want to add:

$ apt-cache policy openoffice.org-evolution
openoffice.org-evolution:
  Installed: 1:3.1.0-3ubuntu2~jaunty1
  Candidate: 1:3.1.0-3ubuntu2~jaunty1
  Version table:
 *** 1:3.1.0-3ubuntu2~jaunty1 0
        500 http://ppa.launchpad.net jaunty/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     1:3.0.1-9ubuntu3 0
        500 http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages

So that Chris knows what version you have installed.

This appears to be an ooo-build issue as I can't reproduce it in the
official openoffice.org.

I've just tested on the non-PPA version (U)OOo 3.0.1) & it works. I also
tested on the PPA version & it does not work; so as Chris pointed out,
it is a PPA build problem.
