Great! - this is the best way to raise knowledge about OOo and to find
more users as well as community members.
here are some ideas that always were annoying to me in the ms
office:
1. when opening files, i always get a tiny scrollbox, but if i want
to choose a file, i need it in detail and full size. i always need to
change the boxes, but next time it is the same again. [...]
I don't know about your Operationg System - on Linux (Ubuntu) with one
of the latest developer snapshots (DEV300m55) modifications to the Open
File dialog are kept including a broader scale.
If I remember correctly you can choose between Windows and OOo file
selection windows on Windows versions. Perhaps this might serve you
better...
2. the last files used function in ooo is not good. it should show
more than the last 9 (why 9, why not 50????) and it should only show
those that relate to the current application eg. calc files only.
There is an extension called "History manager" (up to 20 entries) to be
found on http://extensions.services.openoffice.org. Perhaps it might
serve you (or it might be modified?).
3. it takes very, very long to open from when i double clikc a calc
or impress file in explorer
With active quickstarter it should be done quite fast. Is it still the
same if your OOo is running?
4. in impress, there should be a function to shrink all imported
graphics in one single feature. ppt has it.
Didn't use Impress lately - can't comment on it. Feature requests are
done like bug reports via Issue Tracker
(http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/pre_submission.html). Please
have a look if your request already exists.
5. ooo is very good for laptops, you could generally focus on giving
more useful keyboard shortcuts
The standard shortcuts try to be platform-independent and
language-independent. If you want to change them, you are free to do so
(see:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/OOoAuthors_User_Manual/Writer_Guide/Keyboard_Shortcuts).
6. in calc, the macros are de-facto dysfunctional. i tried to record,
but couldnt find it thereafter, so i dont even know if i recorded at
all. also, macros are made to make my work faster, so it should be
easy to assign a global keyboard shortcut to any macro at teh time
when i stop recording.
When saving the makro under a chosen name, you'll have to look at it's path.
Standard is "My Makros" - "Standard" - "Module1", but you can save it to
the document too.
If you want to run the makro, you'll have to double click on "My Makros"
to expand it, then "Standard", "Module1" and your makro name.
It's easier, if you a toolbar entry or a shortcut to your makro.
7. please give a softbutton and keyboard shortcut for 1,000,000.00
number format. it is the most needed.
If it's not already implemented, it should be quite easy with a makro
(see above)
8. a graphics function that works in all applications where the
surroundigns of an object are removed. e.g. i take a picture of a
car, and i dont want the bush, the house, the people, the sky, just
white, actually just nothing (100%transparent).
Did you try the "edit contour" feature in Writer? (don't know if it
works in other applications too).
9. please make it SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO easy to donate. I once tried but
gave up. For europe, you might just respond with your IBAN and BIC
bank account from any eu country. if there is one in austria,
preferred, even if IBAN transactions are free of charge within the
EU. I donate EUR 50 right away if you respond with these data.

10. i once also tried to participate in your forums, but didnt have
the time to dig through the how to. please easier, e.g. option to
just enter with my email address and sned, dont need to discuss,
just want to drop my info to someone who uses it.
