I'd like to nominate Christoph Noack for the seat of the "Product
Development Representative".
Many of you might know Christoph as CoLead of the ux-project. Not only
that Christoph was one of the people who got the UX project running and
evolving, man machine interaction is his profession and passion.
This is (imo) a perfect precondition for the "Product Development" seat,
as this means to understand the user's needs at the one hand and build a
bridge to the developer's expertise at the other. No doubt - this means
to deal with controversal issues in many cases (just think of such
topics as Project Renaissance). I know Christoph as a person, who is
able to find and communicate compromises in such situations - a very
useful character trait for a council member.
Another reason for me to nominate Christoph, is the way he interacts
with other projects. The OpenOffice.org project is not allone in the
world of Open Source Software. There are other projects, that have very
similar goals and problems - I know, that Christoph has contacts to many
of these projects. (Not only for having contacts, but also to work and
exchange knowledge.)
Ok .. words enough - I'm looking forward to the elections ;)
