No! I use linux,but even that is no defence against a thunderstorm. The 
autorecover works "now". As I said above, it was broken in at least one 
release of 3.0. I simply posted to reassure the OP that it was quite 
possible that autosave did not work on his version. He had plenty of people 
insisting it did without really knowing.
