Hello Open Office!
I have been using your products for years, absolutely fantastic, i
suggest
it to everyone, even back when i was in high school, working for
retailers i
would always tell people not to buy Microsoft! I have just begun online
college, many of my assignments have a certain amount of words
required for
each question. Continuously having to select the word count from the
menu,
though it doesn't sound like much, can be quite annoying. So i would
like to
suggest adding a running word count, for those of us students who like
to do
the bare minimum!
Thank You,
Ben Bolton
What you could do is to pick a convenient place in your document and
insert the word count field there; then, as you type, all you need do is
press F9 and that field will automatically be updated. To insert the
word count field go to Insert>Fields>Other>Document>Statistics and
select the "Words" field.
.....
Harold, you seem to have understood the question differently from me.
As he mentions word count per question, I rather assumed he wanted to
see the word count 'up to this point', rather than for the whole
document. Then he could easily get the words per question. AFAIK OOo
won't do this (only the count for the entire document), but perhaps the
OP could clarify his intent. Maybe I've misunderstood.
(He is, BTW, unsubscribed. I've cc'd him on this, but ask that any
response go to the list.
OP - I'd suggest you check http://www.openoffice.org/mail_list.html for
more information on the OOo mailing lists. You're likely to miss replies
if you're not subscribed to the list.)
