Sir,
I have downloaded OOo 3.1. I am not able to open the files saved under
OOO2.3 A message appears saying ""MS Visual C++ Runtimr

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual
way.
Kindly tell me what to do and how I can open my files.

Sam, the volunteers on this list and the users list have seen your question (several times now) and I'm sure they will try to help, but reposting and hijacking other threads is not a recommended technique. You may have a corrupted copy of OOo 3.1, which in any case is not the most recent version available from www.openoffice.org. Another possibility is that some other application is attempting to open these files. What extension(s) do your files have -- that is, are they ODF ones like .odt and .ods, or something else? I really don't understand why there is any connection being made between soffice.bin and that runtime library, maybe somebody else can explain that. I assume you're using some version of Windows -- which one? In any case, I would recommend that you uninstall OOo through Add/Remove Programs or its equivalent, then reinstall a clean copy using a new download from the site. That will at least eliminate a few of the possibilities.
