Dear Ben,
Thanks for the quick response.
As you know, CFM Protocol mainly deals with below fault management concepts.
1. CCM
2. Link Trace Messages
3. Loop Back messages.
In addition to above y.1731 deals with Performance management related concepts.
1. Alarm Indication
2. Remote defect Indication
3. Loss Measurement
4. Delay Measurement
So, my contribution would be mainly into Performance management features.
Please let me know, If the above concepts are covered in some other features in
OVS.
Query:
Due to the setup creation issues I have not verified complete CFM feature which
exist in OVS.
It would be more helpful, if you could tell the details about making setup with
below configuration.
1. An Ubuntu 14.04
2. 4GB RAM
3. Three Virtual machines.
Best Regards
Ramesh J

Hi All,
I am working in Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.
Its my pleasure to have the membership with OpenvSwitch community.
I have gone through the basics of OpenvSwitch and its features.
Found that CFM feature which deals with fault management services, is already
been added to OVS.

Could you please let me know your opinion on this and also let me know is there
any logistics involved in contribution to OVS.

Maybe you should say what you actually want to add to OVS. According to
Wikipedia, at least, Y1731 is practically the same as 802.1ag through which OVS
implements CFM.
