Hello! I am new to the list and to the ties between cognition and programming- I come from a background of teaching computing. I have been interested for some time in identifying ways to improve the process of learning by novices. Recently I have found both the time to devote to it as well as an interesting theory from cognitive psychology to possibly apply to it.
Is there interest within PPIG in aspects of cognitive theories like the Cognitive Load Theory and Anderson's ACT as it applies to novice programmers? I note that Pop-V. A. Cognitive Theories exists in the Keyword Index. However, I do not see much activity in this area in the discussion mailing list.
