Also some names - x and y - though short have become meaningful through conventional use. Consequently screenX and screenY would normally be understood as screen coordinates, meaning that distanceFromTheLeftEdgeOfTheScreen and distanceDownFromTheTopOfTheScreen are (thankfully) not typical.
Unfortunately the conventions for 'y' vary: I've seen both distanceDownFromTheTopOfTheScreen and distanceUpFromTheBottomOfTheScreen interpretations with about equal occurrance :(, although the convention 'x' distanceFromTheRightEdgeOfTheScreen seems much rarer. The particular convention in use for 'y' can be difficult to find without experiment sometimes.
