Several years ago Socalfreenet.org installed a network, computers and a wireless radio at El Toyon Rec Center (at 2005 E. 4th Street National City). It continues to be a highly used node, in large part because of the after school care that happens there and the computers. We need a volunteer to 'own' this location and do occasional maintenance on the wireless if needed (unlikely) and the computers (more likely). We're going to upgrade it from the 32MB RAM Soekris board that is limping along there with an ancient version of m0n0wall to an Outdoor Meraki and it would be great to have you in on the ground floor as we do that.
