Forging sounds very cool.  I read in the comments of the article you linked
how some people use railroad ties for cheap anvil surfaces - I might be
able to come across one of those if you need it. (My Uncle in law worked
with the railroad for some time).

I have been interested in how alloys are made - I would be happy to join
your efforts when I return stateside.
