I actually would not want the kiln in the craft room. The whole point of
the craft room is to keep it clean for fabric working. Kilns and clay are
dirty and I would hate to have clay imbedded in the carpet in there.

If we could afford a nice kiln we could do glass working. I would support
getting one like this but I would have to do some research to see if it's
cost prohibitive.

The kiln would help us in the winter and work against us in the summer. Our
landlord has said that he will work on the building this summer so
hopefully next summer it won't be so sweltering.  I think this is a small
sacrifice for opening up clayworking and glass working to our members
though.

Every kiln I've used (which in all honesty is three of them) hasn't needed
anything more than what we have in the space. We have a fire extinguisher
and other things for the welder.

Great questions! Definitely things that need consideration!
