Ed Morra, my friend and colleague, is a prosthetic engineer and a user of SolidWorks. He would be willing to help out. Who should I send his contact info to?

Dennis,

Thanks for sharing your press links; allowed me to learn more
    about your project.The

I'm sharing this with SYN/HAK's discuss lis, Ken from Tiny
    Circuits and Jason from Mechanimals.

I'm not a SolidWorks guy, but I'm sure after reading the entire
mail thread some folks adept in SolidWorks (or 3D modeling) might
have something to discuss with you, either on a volunteer basis or
    contract.

If you'd like to meet some of these folks, head down to Akron
    Mini-Maker Faire <http://makerfaireakron.akronlibrary.org/> at the
Akron Main Library this afternoon (yes, this afternoon) between
    1pm-4pm.

I know Ken and Jason Bannister both will be in attendance (I
don't know if they use SolidWorks though, even if not they might
know folks that do 3D modeling).

Also, to learn more about SYN/HAK visit our website synhak.org
    <http://synhak.org> or start here: http://gsvolt.wordpress.com/synhak/

Also, also, learn about Shapeways.com since after your model is
made, they can cast it in various materials and ship it to your
    colleagues at SPI.

All,

Please read this email thread (and links within) at your
convenience. Dennis/Sam could use some serious help with
SolidWorks (or 3D print friendly) modeling and are actively
pursuing talent for modeling their medical device. They get my
support because like Ken, they wish to manufacture the said
medical device here in Akron, Ohio.

Good luck to Sam and you.

Regards,

G

G, thanks for the referral to Josh.

    Hi Josh,

Sure hope you can help us out here. Can you share with me a
telephone number so that Sam and I can give you a call? Sam and
I are located on West Side of Akron where are you located?

The Akron Beacon Journal did a front page story about Sam and this
project - the two (2) hot links below are (1) the news story and
    (2) the pictures of our team and over sized medical device concept
    model.

        Dennis,

While at Ingenuity, I met Josh Wills from MakerGear. He said
that if you contacted him with specifics, he should be able to
help either himself or point you in the right direction.

Can you two talk about the project in SolidWorks from this
        point forward?

        Thanks,

        G

            G,

Eric Wise of the Software Craftsmanship Guild suggested I
reach out to you as you might know someone who can help.

I'm working on a medical device start-up project with a
gentleman that has a spinal cord injury who has a physical
concept model that we need to get into SolidWorks so that
we can get a prototype made via 3D Printing.

Do you know someone that could assist us? Project doesn't
have funding yet - sort of like the chicken or the egg
            situation.

The medical device is for people who have typically
dropped out of society - suffering from spinal cord
injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's, Spina Bifida,
bladder and prostate cancer survivors because they can no
longer hold their urine and the options are surgical
revision, a catheter, many many diapers\pads and\or the
dreaded nursing home. With this device these peoples'
lives will be changed in a positive way, hopefully staying
or resume being productive citizens, and remove stress
            from caregivers.

            Thanks,
            Dennis
