Dusty,
I have an MSDE version of SQL 2000 and 2005 Express running on my laptop.
I will start the 2000 server and then get into my DTS stage. As long as you
know port and server location, you can connect a SQL data source connection
from 2000 to 2005.
I have actually connected two 2005 data sources in one DTS to pump schema to
schema.
SQL Server 2005 also offers an import of Sybase, Oracle and Access.
Steve,
Does MySQL have an ETL language tool?

2 reasons:
1. the project I am on already uses an SQL Server database. The express
version is just for the dev version on my laptop.
2. I'm very familiar with SQL Server and have a few years experience using
it (older versions though). The end result for this app will be 2 SQL
Servers that talk to each other (DTS). One sql server in an internal
office
network where data is collected through an MS Access interface in the
office
then data is de-normalized and DTS'd to the sql server on the same network
as the website (every night). Then I'm going to use CF to do a web based
search interface where users of the website will be able to search and get
the data.
If anyone else has an alternate suggestion, I'm happy to listen.
I have been using mysql for my sites that run on Linux with PHP but just
do
basic stuff with it.

Just out of curiosity why go with SQL express when you can run mysql with
no
limitations?
