: My main concern with a new approach like this is I would assume the use of : cffile to make the copy. If CF can't serve a 5 to 10mb file correctly then : it might have a hard time making a copy of the file. I would assume that : making a copy of the file would use less resources though than serving it : for download? Any thought on that before I start off on a new path would be : cool.
I would think it would be extremely unlikely for an operation like that to fail under load... it would simply be delayed. (If this would fail, it would mean your server becomes utterly unreliable under load, for all kinds of operations, not just copy a file). Also, Java seems to perform a CRC check during copy, which will throw a trappable error if it failed. ------------------------------------------------------------- Annual Sponsor FigLeaf Software - http://www.figleaf.com To unsubscribe from this list, manage your profile @ http://www.acfug.org?fa=login.edituserform For more info, see http://www.acfug.org/mailinglists Archive @ http://www.mail-archive.com/discussion%40acfug.org/ List hosted by http://www.fusionlink.com -------------------------------------------------------------
