The other problem with hostmysite's response is that the same thing
(if it is indeed a shared host problem) will inevitably happen on the
next server you get move to.

You could try serving the file through java (inside cf) and see if
that works. I have a blog post on this:

You'll need to adjust the content disposition on this. I don't think
this is going to help you but, here's to grabbing at straws.
