Teddy, Thanks for your reply. I was not looking for personal contract rates but rather and industry average. I'm just trying to avoid paying too much while at the same time being competitive.

Most consultants have either a written or verbal agreement with their consulting firms that discourage the discussing of their rates. You may want to target technologists who have been a part of the hiring process or IT Managers. Once you have been in contact with them, it would be a good conversation to take offline. Some may disagree with this, but it is one of those things that professionals typically do not openly discuss. Perhaps, I am too formal about this compared to others. Also, there used to be web sites that I cannot remember that had the average salary or contract rate based upon industry and experience. The only issue that I had with those sites as they were extremely generalized and the web sites did not have the most up to date technology skill listings.
