Matthew, rather than tweak the DSNs, why not just tweak the requirement of a password to access the admin? :-)
Just google coldfusion lost admin password to find many documenting the solution. :-) It takes just moments, and you can restore use of the password to whatever you want. It's also not anything unethical.
