Thanks for the kind regards, Steve. I did think I recognized the Care Solutions in your signature. :-) Also thanks for the additional clarifications and observations.

I wrote in a bit of haste, and should reiterate as well that those changes did work for us, at that former job, in that specific environment, on much older CFMX7 apps -- and meant those tidbits as a -- "Yes there is that side of the coin too. Be aware of it." We also did have clear evidence of the GC struggling, with a gc.log littered with out of mem msgs on the Java Heap. For our scenario, we removed the choke, and allowed our app to breathe a little. Now, could those changes have burnt us years later? Sure. I didn't get to find out as the boss moved everything to Java, lol. But yes, this was just a piece of the puzzle. Over time, the "solution puzzle" also included us optimizing queries, reallocating server roles, and more.. including.. bringing you in as a Consultant ;) Charlie knows his CF Architecture guys! I highly recommend his services. I would also echo that your blog is a great resource for these issues.. and encourage folks to dig at these issues from every angle. And.. don't be afraid of jvm.config. Be aware of it.. It is an important piece. There's a JVM under that hood. -S ------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from this list, manage your profile @ http://www.acfug.org?fa=login.edituserform For more info, see http://www.acfug.org/mailinglists Archive @ http://www.mail-archive.com/discussion%40acfug.org/ List hosted by http://www.fusionlink.com -------------------------------------------------------------
