I don't know your entire problem or system, so I don't know if this would work for you - but another solution would be to add a column to your Address table that's called something like "preferred". You would need to find a clean way to keep the field updated, probably during input of the address data. Then when you do a select, you can just use that flag and pull out the right stuff.
