Usually, yes.

Spending 2 days writing a magical stored proc that will save you 50ms on a
process isn't exactly a win if it only gets run once or twice a day. On the
other end of the spectrum, if you're calling it 100 times a minute it might
be worth it.

I've seen plenty of projects where the team went completely overboard with
SPs and cramming everything into the DB and ruined the app's
maintainability as a result.

You're really the only one on the list who can answer what the best
solution is for your specific case.
