just a note, this defeats the purpose of deferred instantiation, on a small stack no problem, but a with a larger one or one with a large child this would increase application startup time. How to do this otherwise, I'm not 100% certain, thinking a super() call may be missing in a overridden method or something????

Then here comes the problem: the very first time the ViewStack's custom control child is called, the custom control's show doesn't do anything. However, switching to a different tab in the ViewStack's parent TabNavigator, and then switching back to to the ViewStack… everything works fine. Any ideas or hints would be very much helpful, as I'm lost on trying to figure this one out….
