Well, the ViewStack isn't created until they navigate to the tab that its on, and it's a small SWF running locally. This change makes it so that a Pentium 2 takes an additional half-second, and I highly doubt anyone with a P2 is going to be using it (it's a tool designed for Flash content developers)

How to do this otherwise, I'm not 100% certain, thinking a super() call may be missing in a overridden method or something???? The ViewStack also implements an interface with the function show(), which is called when the screen comes into focus by its parent (a TabNavigator). The first thing ViewStack does is set the selectedChild to one of the custom controls, which works fine, and then calls the function show() on that child, which according to trace(), also works fine. Then here comes the problem: the very first time the ViewStack's custom control child is called, the custom control's show doesn't do anything. However, switching to a different tab in the ViewStack's parent TabNavigator, and then switching back to to the ViewStack... everything works fine. Any ideas or hints would be very much helpful, as I'm lost on trying to figure this one out....
