Unit Testing and Test Driven Development (TDD) for Flex & ActionScript 3.0

Unit testing has been around for some time in the Java world, but it is
still a relatively new topic for Flash and Flex developers. Unit testing and
test driven development is design to provide a better structure to coding
and developing your applications. Test-driven development requires that an
automated unit test, defining requirements of the code, are written first
before each aspect of the code itself. These tests contain assertions that
are either true or false. Running the tests gives rapid confirmation of
correct behavior as the code evolves and is refactored. As your Flash or
Flex project grows, TDD will greatly help prevent mistakes from cropping up
in your application. It also helps other programmers understand the
constraints and requirements of the project.

About the Speaker:
John Mason works at FusionLink and has been programming with ColdFusion
since 1996 and Flash since 2001. He is a contributor to the CFDJ and
actively posts on several ColdFusion, Flash and Flex related lists. He holds
an Adobe ColdFusion Advance Certification and a MBA from Georgia Southern
University. Currently, he enjoys working on his Flex certification and
building beta applications in AIR.
