In general when you give mouse control to a clip that holds other clips, this will intercept all mouse activity and not allow events to trickle down. The way to work around this is to create a separate clip that is a sibling to the clip you want to have mouse interaction, then you place this clip as a 'handle' or 'drag bar' to control movement of the parent which will bring along your first clip when dragged: |--------------------------------| | parent shell mc | | | | |-----------------------| | | | handle mc (drag init) | | | |-----------------------| | | | | |--------------------------| | | | original mc (mouse intact)| | | |--------------------------| | |--------------------------------| This way the handle mc doesn't overlay the original mc's mouse events. When it comes time for dragging, you apply up one level to the parent mc.
