When you install Flex Builder they live here: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flex Builder 3 Plug-in\sdks\3.0.0 If you install the SDK without FlexBuilder, I'd bet they are in a sub of "Program Files/Adobe" someplace. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there, but none I know personally. I would definitely VERY STRONGLY suggest buying it, and not trying to save a buck or two by doing without it. For ANT tasks, you'll want to look at /ant directory of the SDK install.
