If it's only one level of depth then another construct might be more
appropriate - try an accordion or tab navigator - of you want it to
actually express the 'description' only when that item is selected
perhaps a toolTipFunction (with an underlying custom class) might do
the trick.

Other than that, you'll have to build a custom renderer that has to
determine if there are are children for the displayed element to
determine if the name or description is displayed (branch or leaf) and
behave for each.
