You can pad your data with a blank or some string literal.  You can also use
the prompt property, just know there's a usability issue with this though,
no way to 'un-select'.  Used to be a PromptingComboBox or whatever it was
called floating around the Adobe exchange too, had this prompt property
extended to keep it in the DP for you but ignore it as a choice.  Wouldn't
be hard to implement.
