Yep, I've had the same types of problems. I think the key here is if
comcast works for connectivity for you then that's enough. No reason to
rely on them for email, etc. when that's not a key talent they have. If
you have Gmail, that's probably one of the better providers for email.

But it beats the previous ISP I had. I had a DSL connection with Mindspring
for awhile (which became Earthlink at some point). Had to purchase my own
DSL modem for that, and it was REALLY a pain when my connection would go
down -- Earthlink would blame BellSouth (from whom they leased the physical
line), BellSouth would blame AdTran (the DSL modem manufacturer) and AdTran
would blame Earthlink AND BellSouth. Try dealing with THAT for awhile, and
you'll see why I switched to Comcast. At least I'm now dealing with only
one company's crappy customer non-service department instead of three of
'em!
