I think this is a bad week. You are starting a snowball effect without knowing the story. First of all, did it occur to you maybe that someone simply made a simple mistake?
You claim that there seems to be a change of policy, please back that up. It would be wise for everyone to not jump to conclusions like this here, or else where without detailed information about what actually happened, and why.
