I have a Mitel Application Server (ReleaseVersion=9.4.29.0) here along with a couple SME servers.

Soon after my MAS came in I did some digging and found some relatively recent "SME" bug patches and updates included in the files on my MAS.

The db commands remain, the template system looks the same.

I found the similarities very comforting -- I figured as long as Mitel is supporting a server so similar that the SME distro would hang around.

The MAS (Mitel Application Server) is in basic still e-smith/SME Server,

All correct, Hsing-Foo, except for the "beyond recognition". Very
recognisable to you I'm sure, once you remove the Mitel proprietary
applications. Take away i-bays, webmail and user accounts from SME Server
and it's very similar indeed.

Biggest technical change (other then CentOS 6 base) is that FormMagick is
being gradually ripped out and replaced with new server-manager panels
based on Mojolicious::Lite.
