Basically without SME server you have to configure the underlying
applications manually. Which, ironically, means that if you
understand that part well enough to improve SME server, you don't
really need it...
In the past I found it very useful as a server for small remote
offices but due to business changes I no longer have a need for that.
At one point I thought ClearOS would have been the logical
replacement but haven't followed its current release. Does anyone
have a comparison of features or good reasons not to use it?
