Friends (?) and fellow global citizens: I like Ben Nanonote a ~lot~ for what it is. Having said that, the Nokia/MS marriage is simply NOT relevant to Ben.
Ben Nanonote is not a device that connects easily to the internet, unless you use a Spectec card that costs almost as much as the Ben. At that point you have a screen with very low resolution. The Ben, as sweet as it is (son/daughter of a Chinese to English dictionary) does not offer user interface with even a pointing device never mind a touch screen. Oh, I almost forgot, Ben does not offer USB Host. I am NOT repeat NOT trashing Ben Nanonote, it is a WONDERFULl device, that now has maybe 1,500 users globally. Ben Nanonote is what it is. I am personally looking for new people who might adopt Ben, and after two efforts with user groups finding a tiny amount of interest, Even so, I am (in parallel with Tuxbrain) exploring what it takes and what costs are to manufacture UBB. Meego will live on IMO. Intel has too much at stake. Meego will also make a Most Excellent netbook, notebook, tablet OS. It may be a Niche, but it will be IMO a VERY nice niche. --- Ron K. Jeffries P.S. Wolfgang: I will likely go to the (excellent) SCALE [1] conference. I know you won't, but ~IF~ you shipped me a Nanonote I would show it around to a lot of people.
