Ron, I agree with your thoughts on this. I would have gladly paid for a microSD card with the current release. Things being what they are, this is a very interesting machine and I am glad I purchased it. I am not sure this is the same exact thing, but early Slackware updates required an image floppy. I did a quick search and found this: http://ftp.lanet.lv/ftp/mirror/Slackware/rootdisks/ Stratman2 Date: Fri, 30 Mar 2012 20:27:10 -0700 Subject: Re: Ben Nano arrived, can I use a Mac laptop running OS X instead of a linux machine to reflash Ben? Wolfgang, Unsolicited thought. After the next Ben Nanonote update, you might consider investing the $$$ needed to have all remaining stock reflashed to the current code. If that is not feasible, consider offering a microSD card that has the latest and greatest image and charge what you need to charge to more than break even. Ship that card using post, it works well for e.g. Seed Studio. Your base of gurus who have updated several times are NOT the target, but this would be "friendly" for new Ben NN customers.--- Ron K. Jeffries p.s. before someone says it, I CONFESS: while I read this list and the Ben irc channel, I have not yet purchased a Ben. But I observe the software continues to be refined. Step by step, as Wolf likes to remind us all. ;) On Fri, Mar 30, 2012 at 21:00, Wolfgang Spraul <[email protected]> wrote: Stratman2, (your reply-to address seems to be [email protected] - with a typo - is that on purpose? I am just replying to the list which you will hopefully get) I think updating from either a Windows or Mac machine will not work easily, unless you run a Linux virtual box maybe. Let's see what is easiest :-) Can you try this webchat?
