As returning officer for the Fellowship Council election[1], I'm writing
to confirm these are the winners:

1. Garfield
2. Florian Snow
3. Joe Awni

Congratulations and thanks to all those who volunteered for this
responsibility, especially given the challenges faced by volunteers in
the current climate.

I will communicate with the new Council privately to help them get up
and running quickly.

According to the FSFE e.V. membership page[2], there are only 26 people
registered as members of that organization.

57 Fellows voted in the Fellowship Council election. That is more than
double the number of members registered in FSFE e.V. I feel this shows
that Fellows value democracy.

When considering these numbers, it is also important not to forget that
rather than voting, hundreds[3] of people simply quit in 2018 after
FSFE's leadership ended elections and tried to move Fellows to the
Supporter program without consent.

Some people have expressed concerns that there is division in the
community. I feel that the root cause of the division lies in those
changes and the subsequent exodus from the Fellowship. Ending the
divisions may involve asking each Fellow to individually consent to
joining the Supporter program or simply recognizing all Fellows as
members of FSFE e.V. Then the Fellowship and FSFE e.V. would
effectively merge into one organization.

Some people have made complaints that there has been a sense of
entitlement at play. The vote was announced immediately after the
mailing list migration. The participation has been large enough to give
a mandate to the Fellowship Council so there is no sense of entitlement
at play. People who remain unhappy with the mailing lists or the
leadership are free to resign and/or unsubscribe.

Regards,

Daniel
