I doubt that all Techrights readers know these (new) articles will be
suppressed.

The real news here is than Roy has agreed to post no new articles, not that he
will likely delete old ones.

The real news is that he has bowed to pressure (I haven't ruled out the
possibility that he's bluffing, but I thought you should be made aware of the
situation at least) from his administrator, who contributes hosting but lately
has gone back and forth about whether or not they intend to decide (on the
actual website owner's behalf, that is) whether it's necessary to "pull the
plug" on the website.

The pattern (from IRC activity to the website itself) to threaten, to demand,
to back off JUST BEFORE the demands are met, then to say "I wouldn't really do
that, you know."

I would compare it so someone holding up a liquor store with a water pistol,
getting the money and then saying "look, I'd never really hurt you man, this is
a water pistol."

They still run off with the money, though!

I won't be surprised if another Debian Community story runs on Techrights at
all. Like i said (no matter how people try to spin this information) this is
about the commitment to censor-- I don't know if the owner will follow through
with that or whether he will relent. Either are plausible scenarios.

As to what to do? More people will know about this, gradually. You can't go
controlling the content of someone else's website and expect everyone not to
care.
