Hi Bastien,

I have been missing in action for the last two weeks, sorry that I
screwed up like this. I believe it is not too late to have a nice
event, and a nice launch for librefunding.org.
Here is the "emergency plan":
- We will use one single web page: hackadon.org.
I see that you already put it online in minimal form.
- It will contain: (1) a video explaining the "why" and "how"
(possibly featuring several FLOSS persons); (2) a "share this"
button; (3) a paypal button; (4) an email address; (5) a link
to a framapad with a list of lightening talks; (6) logos of
librefunding and withoutmodel as co-organizers.
About share this we need to clarify. Maybe just Twitter share (I would
love to include decentralised / federated social networks, but maybe
next year)?
One thing nice to include would be a counter showing how much did we
raise already. This cannot be easily done with Paypal AFAIK, and we
don't want to employ any fancy fundraising software, so maybe let's
update it manually, minimum once a day?
Also we can include logos of main sponsors (we can decide what
constitutes big sponsor, for example donation over 500€) and main
organisations that may want to say something like last year (AFUL,
APRIL, I don't know).
Maybe after the event we can put links to project that participated,
like you did last time I believe.
Perhaps in addition to Video we can include textual explanation what
Hackadon is - we can use your today's email and my texts sent to
Arizuka. You will also need to clarify this voting process.
- People can register to the event by sending an email.
Yes, and this is not obligatory.
- No fees. No eventbrite or meetup or weezevent page.
Agree.
- People, companies, organizations are encouraged to donate via
the paypal button: this will constitute the amount of money we
will have to share with FLOSS projects on the D day. Companies
can also pay withoutmodel.com directly, as it will be cheaper
for them.
- On the D day, participants votes with tokens, and we share the
money according to the votes.
That's it. No crowdfunding campaign, just one page, fun on the D
day with tokens and lightening talks, and a simple format.
Until there is something unclear or dubious, I suggest to move
forward like this.
@Louis-David: can you send me the code for the paypal button?
@Jarek: can we use the @librefunding twitter account for spreading
the news about the hackadon? Do you need anything more on the web
page?
Absolutely let's tweet.
It would be also nice to write a short news story once hackadon.org is
ready. I didn't finish the tools section, because I was kind of busy
last weeks. I will try to do it beginning of next week.
@all: do you see how you can help with communication?
I can directly contact couple of friends and companies who may want to
sponsor us and / or come to the party.
I just deleted my facebook account, so not much spreading news on social
media;) Oh, I can also prepare news on my personal blog.
*Thanks!*
Cheers,
Jarek
